Beginner’s sessions are sessions for those who are new to kayaking. If you have some experience already in kayaking you may want to attend one of our regular sessions rather than having a beginner session. If so please contact us to let us know when you want to come.
Please note that if you have already attended a starter session, we will have a few reserved tickets available and will send you a link to get a reserved ticket via email.
Saturday Starter Sessions for Adults and Juniors
More sessions to be added soon…
You or your child will be in nice stable boats (not racing kayaks). You or your child doesn’t need to come along every week, just book online the sessions when you are free. You or your child can start anytime. We strongly recommend that you book two consecutive sessions so you are not having to wait before you can come the next time. Each session will be a mixed age group and mixed ability sessions. These sessions are designed to work on key kayaking skills not fitness. We will cover the same skills in each workshop. Once we are sure that you or your child have sufficient skills to handle a boat competently and safely, you or your child will be asked to either join the adult racing group or the junior group (times on the website or ask the coach). We expect that most people will be able to join our regular sessions after about two or three starter sessions.
Please see the dates of our sessions and click on the link to book via Eventbrite. You need to book the course via Eventbrite. You cannot just turn up on the day.
You pay for each session that you wish to attend. We offer an ‘early bird’ discount for those who book two weeks in advance. If you wish to become full members (adults £120 and juniors £90 for a year), then the beginner’s sessions are free. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange membership.
All courses and taster sessions are payable in advance and we are not able to offer refunds once payment has cleared.
